Creating our Mountain Home
one DIY project at a time
Welcome to Mountain House Design.
We’re slowly (and sometimes chaotically) renovating our 1980s mountain home tucked into the Colorado foothills. This is where modern meets rustic, DIY meets trial-and-error, and progress happens one slightly overambitious project at a time.
If you’re into home design, real-world renovation stories, or just want to see what happens when you tear out a bathroom and hope for the best—you’re in the right place. We’re sharing what works, what doesn’t, what we learned the hard way, and how we’re turning this quirky old house into something we love.
This blog is still a work in progress—kind of like the house. Is it polished? Not at all. But we’re doing the thing—and done is definitely better than perfect!
Our Bathroom Reno!
Dark and dingy to bright and clean. Our bathroom was a little too mountain rustic for our tastes. Check out the before and after here!
